Haley is an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor who is working for her Bachelor’s Degree in both Communication Studies and Spanish. In addition, Haley plans to minor in Crime & Justice to help prepare for a potential future career in law. She is from Kalamazoo, Michigan where she has worked at the Garner family business, Sweetwater’s Donut Mill throughout her teenage years. Her grandparents, John and Kathy Garner started the business in 1983, simply to chase after a love of donuts.
In addition to involvement with school and her family’s business, Haley has participated in numerous programs through the University, as well as around Ann Arbor and Detroit to help work towards her degrees, especially in Spanish. She has teaches English as a Second Language classes to adults in Detroit, as well as teaches elementary Spanish to 3rd and 4th grade students in Ann Arbor Public Schools.
After graduation in May 2015, Haley hopes to take a year off from school to teach English abroad in Spain and then return to the United States to apply for and attend law school. She would also like to spend some time managing one of the Sweetwater’s Donut Mill locations with her family. Her work at Margolis & Gallagher Law provides her with valuable experience towards a future career in law.
