Michigan and Detroit lost one of its finest daughters.

Judge Karen Fort Hood, a Detroit native, former school teacher and legal trailblazer who twice broke racial barriers as the first Black woman to be elected to the Michigan Court of Appeals and chair the Judicial Tenure Commission, died Sunday.  She was 68.

Judge Hood dedicated her life to her community and then the law. RIP Judge. She will be missed!!!
